New Jersey Interscholastic Lacrosse Officials Association
The mission of the New Jersey Interscholastic Lacrosse Officials Association (NJILOA) is to promote and assist the game of interscholastic boy's lacrosse in the state of New Jersey by providing (a) recruitment, training and maintenance of a membership of qualified and competent officials over the age of 18; (b) guidelines for professional conduct for officials and overall improvement of the game; (c) game assignments for officials at all levels of high school (and selected middle school) play. The Association will at all times act without regard to race, sex, color, creed, sexual orientation or any other lawfully protected qualification.

2012 Mandatory Rule Interpretation Meeting - The 2012 Rule interpretation meeting is on Sunday, February 26th, at the Imperia banquet hall in Somerset, NJ.  Please click here to view the 2012 NJILOA Meeting information.  Please note that this meeting is mandated by the NJSIAA and that your insurance with the NJSIAA is predicated on attending this meeting (and passing an annual rules exam). Failure to attend this meeting may result in probationary status and forfeit from any post-season assignments,

2012 NJILOA Annual Rules Exam - Mandated by the NJSIAA, all active officials (cadets excluded) must complete an annual rules exam. NJILOA offocials must complete the 2012 Annual Rules Exam by February 24, 2012. Officials will take the annual rule exam online, by going to the Exam-Professor website: http://www.examprofessor.com/accounts/njiloa.cfm . If you are unable to access this website, you can also use www.examprofessor.com and remember to log in as a student.  If you have not received your username and password to access the Exam Professor website, please contact our Exam Chairperson: Dave Brody. For your convenience, a copy of the annual rule exam (in PDF format) has been posted to our Docs and Info page.

NJILOA Resolutions Committee Report to be voted on at Breakfast Meeting: - With the Breakfast Meeting scheduled for February 26, 2012,  the 2011-12 Report from the Resolutions Committee has been posted on the Docs and Info Section of the NJILOA website. As Chair, I encourage all members to read it to see the issues discussed and resolutions presented to the Executive Committee. Of particular importance, please review the four constitutional amendments being proposed which will be voted on by the members at the Breakfast Meeting. David Field

NJILOA Welcomes new Executive Board for 2012: - The NJILOA welcomes Dave Brody to the NJILOA Executive Board through 2013. Also re-elected to the board were incumbants Michael Zeldman, Charles Talley and Keith Glock. These members will serve with incumbant Tony Damelio, President John Henneberry and Vice President Bob McGrath.

As Jim Gleich steps down from the NJILOA Executive Board after many years of dedicated service, we would like to thank Jim for all his hard work throughout the years.

NJILOA Voting Opens on May 28, 2011: - Nine officials have submitted personal statements to our election chairperson, as the terms of three current Executive Board members will expire next month. You can access those personal statements by clicking here. As voted on and approved at the 2011 Breakfast Meeting, the NJILOA Constitution has been amended to allow for internet (on-line) voting, starting this year. The NJILOA Executive Board has selected SimplyVoting as their internet based voting service provider. Information on SimplyVoting can be found at their website: www.simplyvoting.com .On May 28th, officials will receive an e-mail indicating that they've been registered to vote in the 2011 NJILOA Election. The e-mail will also provide officials with a link to their online ballot. The ballot lists the candidates as well as their personal statements. We ask that you read each personal statement and cast your vote for (3) candidates.  We also ask that you vote for this year's Len Roland award recipients, which will also be listed on this year's ballot. Officials have exactly one week to cast their ballot. Online voting will be open shortly and all ballots must be cast by Friday, June 3, 2011. Election results will be posted on June 4, 2011

NJILOA Annual Banquet - All Please join us on Friday, June 10, 2011 (6:30-11:30pm) for a night of racing, fine food, drinks and door prizes at the NJILOA end of season banquet that will be held at the Pegasus Restaurant, Meadowlands Racetrack, in Rutherford, NJ. The cost is $45 per person for payments received by May 27th, and $50 per person for payments received after that date. NJILOA 2011 Rule Interpretation Breakfast- The NJSIAA mandates that all active officials (2011 cadets excluded) attend an annual rule interpretation meeting. This years meeting will be Sunday, February 27th, at the Imperia banquet hall, on Easton Avenue, Somerset, NJ. Check-in will begin at 9:15am and breakfast will be served a 9:30am. The meeting will begin promptly at 10:00am and will conclude at 12:30pm. Please remember that this meeting is mandatory and must be attended by all active members. Should you have an issue regarding your attendance, please contact our cadet chair Michael Zeldman.

NJILOA Annual Rules Exam - The NJSIAA mandates that all active officials (cadets excluded) complete and pass an annual rules exam. Once again the NJILOA has elected to use  Exam-Professor’s online web services to host the NJILOA Annual Rules exam.  The exam will be available via the NJILOA Exam Website on February 1st and must be completed no later than Friday, February 25th.  Posted on the Docs and Info section of the NJILOA website are (2) new documents to assist officials in becoming familiar with the NJILOA Exam Website and to answer most questions typically raised by our officials.  Please review these documents prior to taking the Annual Rules Exam. Also posted at the Docs and Info section of the NJILOA website is a copy of this year’s Annual Rules exam for print. Best of luck to all in taking the exam.

NJILOA Meeting dates confirmed - 2011 NJILOA Meeting dates have been posted to the NJILOA website.  Click here to view the dates. Welcome packages will go out mid to late January.  The annual exam will be administered online using Exam Professor. Additional information will be sent out in mid to late January.

NJILOA Cadet Training begins in January - Cadet training classes for the 2011 Spring Season will be in session come January 2011. Some start dates have changed, so please click here for the most up to date information.  Last call, should you know anyone interested in officiating HS boys lacrosse in 2011. Please send them our cadet application or direct them to our website www.njiloa.org .

NJILOA Proposes Constitutional Changes: We amended the Constitution at the 2010 Breakfast Meeting regarding the voting process for annual elections. During the discussion of that motion, questions were asked about using an on-line voting service, instead of mailing paper ballots, etc. The NJILOA Executive Board has located a cost-effective, on-line voting service that would be used in 2011. Therefore, click here to review the current constitutional provision on elections.  The proposed amendment which you will be asked to vote on at the 2011 Breakfast Meeting.

NJILOA Registration Officially Closed: Registration for the 2011 Spring Season is now officially closed. Be sure to update your contact information and availability in the Arbiter. In addition to assigning, this information will be used for blast e-mails, online testing, surveys, etc.

NJILOA Resolutions Committee Report posted to websited: the 2010-2011 Resolutions Committee Report has been posted to the Docs and Info. section of our website. Please click on the Docs and Info link on the left navigation bar to go to  that page.

Mandatory Concussion Awareness Training: The NJILOA,  along with every other officiating association in New Jersey, have been contacted that our insurance carrier now requires that all officials must complete a short, online, Concussion Awareness Training.  This training will become part of the Cadet Program but all Active Officials must take the course at this time. Failure to complete this training will result in your schedule being vacated.  Please log on to http://www.nfhslearn.com Once there, there are tabs that scroll through different topics right at the top of the page. The first tab is titled “New FREE Courses” and the first available course is “Concussion in Sports – What You Need to Know.” Please click on that course and complete it. At the conclusion of the webinar, you will be able to view your certificate of completion. We ask that you save this document to your computer with the file name being your full first and last name, then, e -mail the pdf copy that you saved to Keith Glock at Fletch1013@gmail.com so that we can track the completion of our members and submit it to the NJSIAA.  This must be completed by December 31.
